Audi Q4

The Audi Q4 represents a new era for Audi, blending premium SUV practicality with electric innovation. Introduced as the Audi Q4 e-tron in 2021, it became the brand’s first compact electric SUV, positioned between the Audi Q3 and Q5. Built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, the Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron deliver impressive range, cutting-edge technology, and signature quattro performance in an emissions-free package.

Development & Launch

Unveiled in April 2021, the Audi Q4 e-tron was developed to expand Audi’s all-electric e-tron lineup and provide a luxury alternative to competitors like the Tesla Model Y, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and BMW iX1.

Unlike the larger e-tron SUV (later renamed Q8 e-tron), the Q4 e-tron is built on Volkswagen’s modular electric drive matrix (MEB), sharing architecture with the Volkswagen ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq iV. This allowed Audi to deliver an affordable, yet premium, electric SUV without compromising on range or performance.

The Q4 lineup includes:

🔹 Audi Q4 e-tron – A traditional compact luxury SUV with an upright stance and spacious interior.
🔹 Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron – A sleeker, coupe-inspired variant with a sloping roofline for a sportier design.

Powertrain & Performance

The Audi Q4 e-tron is offered in rear-wheel drive (RWD) and quattro all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations, with multiple power outputs and battery options.

The Q4 50 e-tron quattro is the most powerful version, with dual motors providing instant torque and quattro grip. It offers a balanced mix of performance, range, and efficiency.

Charging & Efficiency

Audi designed the Q4 e-tron to deliver long-range capability and fast-charging convenience.

Fast DC Charging – Up to 175 kW charging speeds, allowing 10-80% charge in just 28 minutes.
AC Charging – 11 kW home charging for a full charge in about 7.5 hours.
Recuperation System – Adjustable regenerative braking to optimize efficiency and extend range.

The Q4’s drag coefficient of 0.26 (Sportback) and 0.28 (SUV) helps maximize efficiency, ensuring drivers get the most out of every charge.
