The new Audi Vehicle Safety Center in Ingolstadt will officially open as part of the inauguration of the Incampus Technology Park and is Audi’s most crucial development center for passive safety.

Audi’s new state-of-the-art Vehicle Safety Center features a 820 ft run-up track, a mobile 100-ton crash block, and now has the ability to collide two vehicles at a 90-degree angle. Audi has invested a total of around 100 million euros ($105,000,000 USD) in the facility and is now able to perform an even greater number and variety of vehicle crash tests than the previously used crash hall.

Audi has taken a significant step forward with introducing this new facility and continues to show their dedication to prioritizing safety for their customers. “Today’s Audi models achieve outstanding results in globally valid test procedures. But we’re not resting on our laurels. Instead, we’re continuing to improve our development and testing capabilities,” says Oliver Hoffmann, Member of the Audi Board of Management for Technical Development.
As a reminder, Audi has currently received the IIHS Top Safety Pick award for at least seven different models with five of them being in the highest category.
