Volkswagen Group of America has announced a major recall affecting 13,769 vehicles, including the 2024-2025 Audi Q4 e-Tron SUV, Audi Q4 e-Tron Sportback, and 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 models. The issue stems from a faulty on-board charger (OCDC), which could lead to a loss of drive power, posing a potential safety risk.

What’s the Problem?

The on-board charger (OCDC) is responsible for maintaining the 12-volt battery’s charge. If the component fails, the battery will not receive power, potentially shutting down essential vehicle functions and causing the car to lose drive power. This sudden power failure could increase the risk of an accident, particularly at high speeds or in heavy traffic.

Which Vehicles Are Affected?

The recall covers the following models:
✅ 2024-2025 Audi Q4 e-Tron SUV
✅ 2024-2025 Audi Q4 e-Tron Sportback
✅ 2024 Volkswagen ID.4

How Will Audi & VW Fix It?

To address this issue, dealers will replace the faulty on-board charger (OCDC) at no cost to owners. The fix is expected to resolve the charging issue and prevent further power failures.

Next Steps for Owners

📢 Owner notification letters will be mailed by April 29, 2025.
If you own one of the affected vehicles, it’s recommended that you contact your dealer as soon as possible to schedule a repair.

Customer Service Contacts

📞 Volkswagen Owners: 1-800-893-5298 (Recall #93CJ)
