In case you weren’t aware, Audi has begun development on the next generation update of the 2025 Audi Q3. It is among the last models in the four-ringed lineup awaiting electrification and is gearing up for a complete overhaul. But less than a month ago, spy photos showed its production body and lights. Although the BMW X1 rival is scheduled to debut at some point next year, we can at least get an idea of what it could possibly look like thanks to renderings by Kolesa.ru.

The Q3 shown in the image has a charging port located on the driver’s side front fender. It is not an entirely electric vehicle; rather, it is anticipated that the 2025 Q3 will utilize the MQB Evo platform, which the new Volkswagen Tiguan also uses. Volkswagen Group has currently developed two new plug-in hybrid powertrains. The first powertrain consists of a 110 kW engine, a ‘HEM80evo’ electric motor integrated into a 6-speed ‘DQ400e evo’ DCT. The electric motor generates 85 kW of power and 330 Nm of torque on its own. The system produces a total of 150 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque.
The second powertrain, which is the flagship version, features a 130 kW engine. This leads to a total system power of 200 kW and a system torque of 400 Nm. The HEM80evo electric motor will likely save and obtain energy from a liquid-cooled 19.7 kWh battery pack placed in front of the rear axle. Thanks to the larger battery, the Q3 plug-in hybrid could possibly do up to 62 miles in EV mode.
The next-gen Audi Q3 will be the most significant update for the German automaker’s compact SUV, and we think it will be an excellent choice for buyers who don’t want to transition into the EV segment quite yet.
