A6 Avant E-Tron concept
Audi has always been known for its high-quality and luxurious vehicles, But when it comes to the North American market, there has always been a gap regarding one particular type of car – station wagons. Currently, the only options available in this segment are the A4 and A6 Allroad models. And for those looking for a more robust and sporty wagon, there’s the RS6 Avant, which comes at a starting price of $125,000. Now, with the A6 Avant E-Tron already in the works, it begs the question – should Audi bring in another station wagon to the North American market, like an A5 Allroad, or is the A6 Allroad due for a price correction?

The current lineup of Audi wagons are popular in the North American market, but the demand could be better and here is why. The Audi A4 Allroad is smaller and less potent than its A6 counterpart, but the price difference between the two is almost $22,000. The A4 Allroad is priced at $46,900 while the A6 Allroad comes with a steep price tag of $68,500. And while the RS6 Avant is a dream car for many, it’s not a practical daily driver for most buyers due to its exorbitant price.

Therefore, either an A5 wagon or a lower priced A6 Allroad could bring some much-needed competition in the segment, which Volvo currently dominates with its V60 and V90 models. With a sleek design, advanced technology, and luxurious interior, a new wagon could give Audi an edge over its competitors, giving customers more options to choose from and, therefore, attracting more buyers to the brand.

With the demand for station wagons and the success of Audi’s current wagon models, an A5 wagon or a more affordable A6 Allroad could be the missing piece to the brand’s wagon lineup in the region. So, should Audi bring more station wagons to the North American market or should they lower the price of the A6 Allroad to make room for the A6 Avant E-Tron? Let us know!
